new year.

I have realized that all of my posts (when I decide to actually post something) start out with "So, ..." and then proceed to give some excuse for why it has been so long and why I am such a poor blogger and how I need to be better. Well, even though that is true, I'm not making apologies or excuses anymore. I'm just going to do whatever the heck I want.
My New Year's resolution, or rather just my biggest one, is to not be afraid and to be bold. Easy, right? Ha! And I answer with a huge, resounding NO! I get scared easily and I let my fear drive my decisions and actions. To continually grow I need to be out of my comfort zone so I am going to try to do that this year without forgetting that I made the resolution in the first place. It's a new year, a new semester, and new and exciting things need to happen this semester.
For those of you who didn't get the chance to see it, President Uchtdorf gave a CES Devotional on Sunday evening in the Marriott Center which I was privileged to attend. It was about truth and how it doesn't matter if people don't believe it. Truth is always true. We should constantly be seekers of truth. Here's the link (if you can't get it to load) if you want to read it, which I highly recommend: What is Truth? President Uchtdorf is truly an apostle of our Heavenly Father who we are privileged to sustain on the earth is these Latter Days, and he is an inspirational teacher, whether you are a Latter-Day Saint or not.

A few days later, Sister Elaine S. Dalton visited BYU campus and addressed us about our potential and how much we can do in this world. She emphasized not letting others tell us that we are too young or inexperienced to do anything. It was not broadcast so I can't post the link, but for those who saw it, it was amazing. I'll admit that I shed a few tears...
Now onto lighter matters! I just got back to Provo about two weeks ago after Christmas break in Georgia. It was so good to be back with my family and to see Mia since I had only seen her for two weeks right after she was born. Being in Georgia was great, but I'll admit that after a week I was ready to come back to Provo. Provo feels like home now and I missed everyone here a ton. Pictures to come! I'm just having a few issues uploading them for some reason. I got a new camera for Christmas and I have been having a ton of fun messing with things on my camera and with Photoshop so I'll have some better quality pictures to post than what I have posted in the past.

More updates to come later from the end of last year and the beginning of this one. And hopefully this will become more regular, but based on my past experience I say fat chance. I can be optimistic though, right? Maybe when my life becomes a little more interesting it will be easier.
